Privacy Policy

No data collection by us

Real Online Compass does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data on our own servers. We have no proprietary analytics, no tracking pixels, and no server-side logging of user activity.

Location & sensor access

Some tools request access to your device's GPS location or motion sensors (compass, gyroscope, accelerometer). This data is used exclusively within your browser to perform calculations. It is never sent to our servers, stored in any database, or shared with any third party by us.

You can deny these permissions at any time in your browser settings. Most tools will still display partial results without location or sensor access.

Local storage

We store two preferences in your browser's localStorage — your chosen colour theme (light or dark) and your selected language. This data never leaves your device.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors use the site in aggregate — for example, which tools are most used and which countries visitors come from. Google Analytics collects data such as your IP address (anonymised), browser type, device type, pages visited, and session duration. This data is processed by Google and subject to Google's Privacy Policy.

Google Analytics uses cookies to distinguish unique visitors. You can opt out by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on or by using a browser extension that blocks analytics trackers.

Google AdSense

We use Google AdSense to display advertisements on this site. AdSense uses cookies and similar tracking technologies to serve ads that are relevant to your interests. Google and its partners may use these technologies to collect data about your visits to this and other websites in order to show personalised advertisements.

You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings or by visiting aboutads.info. For more information, see How Google uses cookies in advertising.

Other third-party services

The Altitude tool queries the Open-Meteo Elevation API with your GPS coordinates to look up your ground elevation. This request is made directly from your browser and is subject to Open-Meteo's own privacy policy.

Google Fonts are loaded asynchronously for typography. Font requests are sent to Google's servers; see Google's Privacy Policy for details.

Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights under applicable privacy law (such as GDPR or CCPA) including the right to access, correct, or delete data held about you by third-party processors. Since we do not collect personal data ourselves, any such requests relating to Google's data should be directed to Google directly via their privacy tools.
